Every life has its share of stress and struggle. For many of us there comes a time when we need help to manage, keep moving forward, and overcome the obstacles in our path. Sometimes the source of pain is from outside us and sometimes from within, and both can make us feel hopeless and helpless. It is my great joy to be able to help people find peace, happiness, confidence, and a sense of purpose in their lives.
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Beyond training in general psychology I have a particular interest in children and parenting. I work directly with children experiencing various problems and help the adults in their lives learn to parent these special children. In addition to formal training I have a wide range of life experiences, both successes and learning moments, that I bring to my work.
My philosophy as a therapist is rooted in the idea that we can have an impact on our emotions and behavior through understanding our beliefs about ourselves and others. I find therapy most successful when I form a relationship with my client, and together we explore the issues and solutions. I see our work as a collaboration in which we each bring something important to the process. I have experience using many techniques including incorporating a therapy assist animal. My very sweet boxer mix is ready to help clients address their pain in a safe, comforting place!
